Spinach Madness

So, its been a little over a week since I started going hardcore on the eating clean and I can honestly say that it does not feel like a diet and it does not feel like any effort. I do not really have any cravings for anything I used too, I think because I eat so often that my blood sugar stays stable. The only thing I do miss so far is pizza. Hahaha, but that can be arranged for a cheat meal.

I am feeling really good on this program though and I almost feel like I am missing something because it should not be this effortless. Do not get me wrong, it is costing me a fortune in fresh veggies and chicken... but it is still less money than I spent eating out every meal.

I talked to my brother this morning and was saying to him how amazing I am that I was unknowingly consuming SO many calories in a day and yet still not full or nourished. My brother at his heaviest consumed roughly 15 thousand cals a day, and I have not been far from it. I did not realize how many calories were actually in the take out meals I have been eating. For example, 300 calories for my XL double double I am so found of. Also, 800 calories for a foot long chicken sub that I thought was so good for me.

Don't get me wrong, Subway can be good for you if you choose the right things... everyone knows Jarred got skinny that way, but I am choosing to save some money and make my own lunches- sorry Jarred...

Things I eat for lunch now instead of Subway:

Homemade open faced chicken salad: chicken breast diced, tomatoes, green pepper, spinach and light dill dressing on Ezekiel sprouted grain bread (320 cals)

Tuna and spinach salad: Canned light tuna, spinach leaves, garden mix salad, cucumbers and green peppers. With lemon and balsamic olive oil vinaigrette (220 cals).

YUM!
